Mount Saint Bernard Abbey - March 2013
Mount Saint Bernard Abbey is a Cistercian monastery situated near Coalville in Leicestershire.
Following 9am Mass on Tuesday 19 March (the feast of St Joseph) 17 parishioners of of Holy Family and two friends from St Mary's boarded a coach to visit the Abbey for a day of prayer and friendship. Whilst there we participated with the monks in their daily prayer, received a talk from Fr Justin on Prayer, had the opportunity for the sacrament of Reconciliation and also had some free time to walk the grounds and visit the well stocked book shop.The Papal flag was flying from the monastery tower to commemorate the installation of Pope Francis 1st that day. We arrived safely back to Holy Family car park around 6pm feeling spiritually refreshed if not physically a little tired but at least the sun was shining to welcome us back. Thanks to Ann Roberts and friends who organised the day so well.
